Lined Paper Generator

Lined Paper Generator makes clean ruled paper with exactly even spacing — 6, 8 or 10 mm between lines — on A4, A5, Letter or Legal sheets. Add the classic red margin line, leave a blank header space for a name and title, and download a vector PDF drawn in your browser. It is the five-second answer to running out of notebook paper the night before homework is due.

How to use Lined Paper Generator

  1. Choose the paper size and the line spacing.
  2. Check the live preview — it redraws as you change any option.
  3. Download the PDF for printing, or the PNG if you want an image of the page.
  4. Print at 100% scale (no 'fit to page') so the spacing stays exact.

Supported behavior

  • Ruling is perfectly even from the first line to the last — no drifting like scanned notebook pages.
  • The red margin line sits 12 mm inside the left margin, like classic exercise-book paper.
  • Header space leaves the top of the page blank for a name, date or title.

Best for

  • Everyday handwriting, journaling and meeting notes.
  • Homework and handwriting practice for students.
  • Printing a few sheets instead of buying a whole pad.

Limits

  • Exact spacing depends on printing at 100% scale; 'fit to page' shrinks the ruling slightly.
  • Lines run to the page margins you set — printers that cannot print near the edge may clip the outermost millimetres.
  • One page per download; print copies as needed.

Privacy notes

  • Your entries never leave your device: the printable is drawn and downloaded entirely in your browser, with no server involved.
  • No account, no upload, no watermark — the page is generated locally and is yours to print.

Lined Paper Generator FAQ

Which line spacing is best for handwriting?

8 mm (wide ruled) suits most adult handwriting. Choose 10 mm for large writing or young students, and 6 mm (narrow ruled) for compact notes.

Can I write a title on the sheet?

Turn on header space: the top of the page stays blank, giving you room to write a name, date and title by hand before the ruling starts.

Is the margin line always red?

Yes — the classic exercise-book red. You can switch it off entirely if you prefer a plain ruled sheet.

PDF or PNG — which should I download?

PDF for printing: the lines are vectors and stay sharp. PNG (150 DPI) is better for dropping the sheet into a document or slide.
