How to use Merge PDF

  1. Choose or drop two or more PDF files.
  2. Check the list: files are merged top to bottom. Remove any file you added by mistake.
  3. Click Merge PDFs and wait for the combined document to be built.
  4. Download the merged PDF from the result panel.

Supported behavior

  • Files are merged in list order, and each file's pages stay in their original order.
  • Pages are copied exactly as they are — same size, same quality, no re-encoding.
  • You can merge as many files as your device's memory comfortably holds.

Best for

  • Joining scanned pages into a single document.
  • Combining a report with its appendices before sending it.
  • Merging chapter-by-chapter exports into one book or thesis file.

Limits

  • Bookmarks and outlines from the source files are not carried into the merged file.
  • Interactive form fields with the same name in different files can collide; flatten forms first if that matters.
  • Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged — remove the password first with the Unlock PDF tool.

Privacy notes

  • Your PDF is processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded to a server.
  • Because merging happens on your device, confidential documents never pass through a third-party server.

Can I change the order before merging?

The list shows the merge order. Remove a file and add it again to move it to the end, or use the up and down buttons on each row to nudge it into place.

Does merging reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied into the new document exactly as they are, without recompression, so text and images keep their original quality.

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

There is no fixed count limit. The practical limit is your device's memory, because every file is held in the browser while the merged document is built.

Why did one of my files fail to load?

It is probably password-protected or damaged. The tool says which file failed; unlock it with the Unlock PDF tool or re-export it, then try again.
