Reverse Text
Reverse Text flips text in four distinct ways: reverse the entire string character by character, reverse each line independently, reverse the order of the words, or reverse each word while keeping the words in place. Each mode answers a different need — mirrored writing, backwards challenges, reordered lists, scrambled-word puzzles. Unicode is handled by code point, so emoji and accented letters survive the flip intact.
How to use Reverse Text
- Paste your text into the box.
- Choose a mode: everything, each line, word order, or each word.
- Copy the reversed result from the result box.
Supported behavior
- Reversal works on Unicode code points, so surrogate pairs (most emoji) are never split in half.
- 'Each line' keeps lines in their original order but flips the characters inside each one.
- 'Word order' keeps every word's spelling and reverses only their sequence.
Best for
- Creating backwards text for puzzles and games.
- Checking whether a phrase is a palindrome.
- Reversing a list's order without sorting it (use word/line modes creatively).
Limits
- Combining characters (like an accent added to a letter) may detach visually when reversed, because reversal works per code point.
- Right-to-left scripts reversed this way produce logical-order flips that may not display the way you expect.
Privacy notes
- Your text is processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded to a server.
- Reversal happens locally — your text never leaves the tab.

Reverse Text FAQ
Which mode makes text readable in a mirror?
Use 'Reverse everything'. It flips the whole string, which is the closest a plain text tool can get — true mirror writing also needs each glyph flipped, which requires a font or image tool.
How do I check for a palindrome?
Reverse the phrase with 'Reverse everything' and compare. Note that spaces and capitals count, so 'Racecar' reversed is 'racecaR' — lowercase your text first for a fair test.
Does it break emoji?
Single emoji survive intact. Family and flag emoji are sequences of several code points joined together, and those sequences will come apart when reversed.
