Crop PDF

Crop PDF trims the same margin off every page of a document — the wide white borders scanners add, the excess frame around exported slides, the dead space that makes text tiny on an e-reader. Set the margin in millimetres and the tool rewrites each page's crop box, then shows you the page size in points before and after so you can see exactly what changed.

How to use Crop PDF

  1. Choose or drop the PDF.
  2. Enter the margin to trim from every side, in millimetres.
  3. Click Crop PDF — the result panel shows the page size before and after.
  4. Download the cropped file.

Supported behavior

  • One margin value is applied evenly to the left, right, top and bottom of every page.
  • Page size is reported in PDF points (72 points = 25.4 mm) before and after cropping.
  • Cropping sets the standard PDF crop box, which every reader and printer honours.

Best for

  • Removing white scanner borders so text fills the screen.
  • Tightening slide exports for handouts.
  • Making margins uniform before printing or binding.

Limits

  • Cropping hides the trimmed area rather than deleting it — the hidden content still exists in the file, so file size barely changes and cropping is not a redaction tool.
  • The same margin applies to all pages; pages with different sizes are each trimmed by that margin.
  • The margin is capped so a page always keeps a positive visible area.

Privacy notes

  • Your PDF is processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded to a server.
  • The crop is computed and written on your device. Nothing about your document is sent to a server.

Crop PDF FAQ

How many points is a millimetre?

One millimetre is about 2.835 points. A 10 mm margin removes roughly 28 points per side, which the result panel shows for the first page.

Does cropping delete the trimmed content?

No. It changes the visible crop box; the content outside it is hidden, not erased. Never use cropping to hide sensitive information — hidden text can be recovered.

Can I crop only one page, or each page differently?

Not with this tool — the margin is deliberately uniform. For a single page, extract it first, crop it, and merge it back.

Why did my file size stay almost the same?

Because nothing was removed from the file — only the visible area changed. If you need a smaller file, the Compress PDF tool rebuilds pages as images.
