Rotate PDF

Rotate PDF fixes pages that were scanned or exported sideways — permanently, in the file itself, not just in your viewer. Pick a quarter-turn (90, 180 or 270 degrees), apply it to every page or only to a range like 3-5, and save. The next person who opens the document sees it the right way up, in any reader, forever.

How to use Rotate PDF

  1. Choose or drop the PDF.
  2. Pick the rotation angle: 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise.
  3. Leave the pages box empty to rotate everything, or type a range such as 2,4-6.
  4. Click Rotate pages and download the corrected file.

Supported behavior

  • Rotation is written into the PDF, so it holds in every reader and when printing.
  • The angle is added to each page's existing rotation, which matters for pages that were already turned.
  • Only whole pages rotate — the content of a page cannot be turned independently.

Best for

  • Repairing sideways or upside-down scans.
  • Turning landscape tables inside a portrait report.
  • Fixing phone photos that were converted to PDF at the wrong angle.

Limits

  • If only some pages are sideways, use the range box — rotating everything would turn the good pages bad.
  • Rotation changes page orientation metadata; it does not crop or straighten skewed scans (deskewing is a different operation).
  • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.

Privacy notes

  • Processing happens entirely in your browser, so nothing in your document is sent anywhere.
  • The corrected file is written locally in your browser; your document is never uploaded for something as simple as a quarter-turn.

Rotate PDF FAQ

Is the rotation permanent?

Yes. Unlike rotating in a viewer, which only changes your current view, this tool saves the rotation into the file itself.

How do I rotate just one page?

Type its number in the pages box — for example 3 — and only that page turns.

My page was already rotated 90 degrees. What happens if I rotate 90 again?

Rotations add up: the page ends up at 180 degrees. If a file has mixed existing rotations, the range box lets you fix groups separately.

Can this straighten a slightly tilted scan?

No — that is deskewing, which rotates by small angles and re-renders the page image. This tool does exact quarter-turns only.
